Clustering
The task of dividing the population or data points into a number of groups such that data points in the same groups are more similar to other data points in the same group than those in other groups.
Example of clustering could be the following:
- Customer segmentation: Grouping customers into different segments based on their behavior, preferences, and other characteristics.
- Document clustering: Grouping documents into different categories based on their content.
- Image segmentation: Dividing an image into different regions based on their content.
- Anomaly detection: Identifying data points that are significantly different from the rest of the data.
